The high school basketball season runs between November 1st and February 6th.  There are boys and girls division 1 and 2 teams in our local SISAC League.
Division 1:
The division 1 teams play each team in our league twice.  One home and one away game.  Being a division 1 player requires a large commitment and includes participation in two competitive leagues; SISAC and ACAMIS.
The ACAMIS tournament is in Beijing at the International school of Beijing and will take place on January 28th through the 31st.  There our school will compete against 5 other ACAMIS schools for the 2010 ACAMIS Basketball Championships.  
Division 2:
The division 2 teams play each team in our league once in either a home or away game.  Players are expected to be at all practices and do their best.  The emphasis is on skill development and preparing students to play in Division 1. 
This year the Division two teams have competed at a tournament in Hangzhou, and will compete in a Shanghai tournament hosted by SAS and in the SISAC Championships. 

Middle School Basketball  
The Middle school basketball season starts the week of March 22nd and runs through to May 22nd.  Boys and Girls will be able to represent SSIS in friendly competition in our CISSA league, including schools from Shanghai.  This is a great opportunity for students in grades 6 through 8 to learn the basic skills of the game, and have fun!!!
