Next week, parents will be eager to read their children’s Semester 1 reports on the PowerSchool Public Portal. If you intend to share the report with your child and reflect on the learning that has taken place, do adopt a Growth Mindset in doing this, no matter what the report says.
Assessment is integral to all teaching and learning. It is central to the Primary Years Programme goal of thoughtfully and effectively guiding students through the acquisition of knowledge, the understanding of concepts, the mastering of skills, the development of attitudes and the decisions to take action. The prime object of assessment in the Primary Years Programme and at SSIS is to provide feedback on the learning process.
I’d like to take this opportunity to discuss how important play is to your small child’s social, emotional, physical and creative development.
The importance of play to youngsters should not be underestimated.
