The SSIS primary library serves students from Nursery to Grade 5 and aims to promote literacy and learning. Students come to the library once a week for scheduled library classes to participate in story times, information literacy lessons, and the borrowing of books. Students also come additional times for literature enjoyment and research.

While the library collection is predominantly in English, there is a significant collection of Chinese fiction and nonfiction books as well as some books in other languages. Numerous magazines and several electronic research databases are also available.The library resources are used primarily to support the curriculum taught in classrooms. Books and magazines are chosen to support student research and to encourage a love of literature.
