The Activities programme supports the curriculum requirements of the IBDP Creativity, Action and Service and the MYP Action for Service by encouraging service-learning opportunities for students and by partnering with various community service organizations in the Suzhou area.
The opportunity to work with these organizations is available to all Secondary students. These clubs generally meet after school from 3:30pm to 5:00pm on different days of the week and some lunchtimes.
In previous years activities have included working with Animals Asia, Operation Catnip, HelpToHelp Association and residents of various orphanages and aged care facilities in Suzhou such as Tiger Hill Orphanage and the Bo'Ai Migrant School; participating in the International Youth Award, Environmental Club and Model United Nations (MUN); growing and selling vegetables and herbs for fundraising activities; and fundraising for an elephant sanctuary and the Chengdu Panda sanctuary. (Please note that activities offered change from season to season and may not always be available.)
