Parent-Teacher Conferences – Wed 8th Feb
We are again using an online system for signing up a time for Parent Teacher Conferences. These will take place on Wednesday 8th February starting at 3.50 and the last appointment at 6.20. Homeroom teachers and single subject teachers have a 10 minute time slot available.

If a suitable time is not available please contact your child's teacher directly to schedule a meeting time on another date.

If you need to change a booking this can only be done via the divisional secretary, however you will be able to log in again to check the times that you have booked though we recommend you make a separate note of these times.

A crèche will be available from 3.45 – 6pm in the Elementary Library. Becki Clentworth will be supervising the children. You will need to sign your child in to use this facility.
A shuttle bus service will be available from Singa Plaza for your convenience. Please see the attached bus schedule.

Elementary Parent Morning Tea – Fri 10th Feb
The topic of our monthly morning tea this week is "Learning Chinese @ SSIS" – please come along and learn more about our Chinese program at SSIS and meet other parents. The meeting starts @ 10.45 in the Elementary library. Stay afterwards to watch the Grade 3's host assembly @ 11.45 and then join your children for lunch if you wish.

Parent Reading Volunteer Training – 9th and 10th Feb
We invite interested parents to contact Michaela Simpson michaelasimpson@ssis-suzhou.net regarding the upcoming reading training program for parents. Come along and learn techniques to help students during reading, learn more about the 3P's in reading (Pause, Prompt and Praise). The training program will be held on the 9th and 10th of Feb from 9:00-10.30. This is worthwhile training for any parent.

The Latest Newsletter-Dragon's Den
Our 18th issue of 2011/2012 school wide newsletter is now available here. We no longer send a printed copy home with each student. A hard copy is available from reception on request for families who are not able to access the on-line edition. Thank you for your understanding and support. University Acceptances

We are delighted to hear that our graduating class has already received acceptances to some of the top universities in the world including: Cambridge University, The London School of Economics, Imperial College London, University College London, University of Hong Kong, McGill University, University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA), Franklin & Marshall College and Pennsylvania State University. We will continue to update this list in the SSIS Dragon newsletter. We are very proud of our students and their accomplishments.

Parent-Student Handbook 2011-2012

In our ongoing attempt to reduce the impact our school has on the environment the Parent-Student Handbook for 2011-2012 is now available online. In the light blue menu bar click on the link “About Us” to find the link to the Parent-Student Handbook. You will be prompted to enter a username and password. Username: parent2011 Password: pa2011. These are generic and used by all parents to access the handbook. Please contact divisional secretaries if you have any questions.
