Jarrett Brown

I am from the United States where I got my History degree at the Ohio State University in 2003. I went on to get my Masters in Secondary Education at Xavier University in 2006. I have been teaching overseas since I got my education license. My first 2 years were teaching at the American International School of Salzburg, and I started working at SSIS in 2008 as a PE Teacher.

Melodie Greene
Head of Grade 9

I studied French and Political Science at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada before completing my post-graduate degree in education at the University of Wollongong in NSW, Australia. For the past five years I have been teaching History and Geography at SSIS (at both the MYP and DP levels), although I have also taught English and French.

Don Preston
Economics Teacher
I studied history at Arizona State University in the United States. I have taught history, government, and economics for fourteen years, both in American public schools and here in Suzhou.

Dexter Phillips
IBDP Business and Management and Economics teacher

I am a national of Guyana South America/Caribbean; where I studied Business Management at the University of Guyana, and later went on to pursue a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) at the University of San Carlos, and an Educational Doctorate (Ed.D) at the University of Cebu, Philippines. I also received my teacher's training and certification at the University of Cambridge Centre for International Education in the UK.
My teaching experience spans a number of years with in the national education system of Guyana and international schools in Guyana and the Philippines, where I taught the University of Cambridge A levels Economic, Business Studies and Accounting, and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Business and Management programme. I also served in a number of administrative capacities. Here at SSIS I teach Business Management and Economics. Aubrey Curran
Humanities subject leader
I studied geography education at the Education Faculty or Amsterdam, the Netherlands. I spent 10 years working in Holland in 3 IB schools, before moving overseas. I was the middle school Principal in an international school in Beijing, and chose to move to Suzhou in August, 2010. This is my second year at SSIS.

Andrew Sierman
My name is Andrew Sierman, and I am Humanities Teacher in the a Middle School. I am originally from Providence Rhode Island, in the United States. I began teaching Humanities at SSIS in 2007, in a variety of Secondary grade levels. This will be my fifth year teaching at SSIS, and my fourth year as a Middle School Humanities Teacher. I studied sociology at Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts before I transferred to Central Connecticut State University where I majored in Education with a focus in Asian History.
In addition to my regular teaching duties, I coach the Middle School Boys Soccer team, I am the homeroom teacher for 8E, and supervise the Animals Asia CAS project, which focuses on raising money and awareness for the Moon Bears (Asiatic Black Bears) throughout China and Asia. Michael Hawkes
Humanities Teacher and Head of Grade 10

I am a Canadian who has been teaching for eleven years. I studied at the Dalhousie University in Canada and the University of Maine at Fort Kent in Maine, USA. I have majored in Sports Administration and Secondary Education-Humanities/History.

Matthew Marshall
IBDP/HSD Coordinator/Humanities/ToK
I received a Bachelor of Arts in History and Geography from Brandon University in Canada in 1992. After graduating I went to work for a forestry research company as a mapping consultant in western Canada and then returned to university to study Education. I received a Bachelor of Education (Secondary Social Studies/English) from the University of Alberta in Canada in 1997. In 2005 I obtained a Master of Education from Endicott College.
After working for one year in the Canadian public school system I went overseas to teach internationally. I am now in my 13th year overseas and have worked in international schools in South Korea, Norway and China where I have taught History, Geography, English and TOK. Libby Ince
Head of Grade 12

I studied BA (Hons) History at UWE, Bristol. Before completing my teaching certificate I worked in Madrid, Spain for two years as an ESL teacher. I have worked in schools in Bristol, Spain, Mexico, Sri Lanka and China. I have been working in international education since 1999 and in IB schools for 10 years. This is my 10th year at SSIS.
I teach IB MYP Humanities and IB Diploma History. I am Head of Grade 12 and have been an MUN Director for the last nine years. I also deliver the TESMC (Teaching ESL students in Mainstream classes) programme to teachers at SSIS.
Anthony Iacobucci (Tony)
Originally from Cleveland, Ohio in the United States, I graduated with National Honors/Suma Cum Laude from Eastern Michigan University with multiple areas of study. My teaching credentials are in Social Studies/Humanities and Spanish Language. With the International Baccalaureate, I am certified to teach MYP Humanities and DP Psychology.
At SSIS I teach Humanities, Psychology and Asian studies. At SSIS, I also lead the Student Council.
