I received a Bachelor of Arts in History and Geography from Brandon University in Canada in 1992. After graduating I went to work for a forestry research company as a mapping consultant in western Canada and then returned to university to study Education. I received a Bachelor of Education (Secondary Social Studies/English) from the University of Alberta in Canada in 1997. In 2005 I obtained a Master of Education from Endicott College.
After working for one year in the Canadian public school system I went overseas. I am now in my 11th year overseas and have worked in international schools in South Korea, Norway and China where I have taught History, Geography, English and TOK. A graduate of the University of Alberta (Canada) (B Ed), I have been teaching English and Humanities in schools in Canada, Sweden, Azerbaijan, Qatar and now China. I was born in Canada, but am now a Swedish national.
My responsibilities at SSIS this year are: Grade 9 English B (Standard and Advanced), English 10 A, Grade 11 Language A1 English (Standard Level) and Theory of Knowledge (TOK). High School Teacher and Learning Coordinator, H.S English teacher and IBD English---Sue Scott
I studied at Auckland University, New Zealand, before training to be a secondary teacher in 1968. I then taught English, History, French, Maori and Social Studies in mainly rural or multicultural state co-educational schools before going to teach in Papua New Guinea in 1995. This opened my eyes to the opportunities in international education. I returned to New Zealand as HOD English, before heading to Istanbul, Turkey, four years later.
Our next stop was Suzhou. In my six years here, I have taught English to Years 6-12. Currently I teach Year 10 English A and 12 IB English A2 and I am the Home Room teacher for 12 S. It is very gratifying to me to be working with many of the students who were in my original Year 6 English class. This year I am also working to support teachers in my new role as the Secondary Teaching and Learning Coordinator.
In addition to my main duties, I help produce Dragon magazine. Having been responsible for the publicity and ticket sales for many school productions, this year I am producing the high school drama, A-Haunting We Will Go. My Email address is:suescott@ssis-suzhou.net

I received my Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada and my Bachelor of Education in English and French at Mount Alison University, Sackville, Canada. I completed my TESL certificate at St. Mary’s University, Halifax, Canada.
I have taught in international schools in Morocco, Switzerland, Austria, and Holland. I also taught in a private school in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

American by birth and Canadian by choice, I have a Master's degree from St. John's College in Annapolis, Maryland (USA). I have taught in the IB Programme since 1986, and I have been an IB Assistant Examiner since 2003. I began teaching at SSIS in 2004.
I'm also the author of “Good Habits, Good Students: A Complete Guide for Students Who Want to Succeed”.

English B teacher------Ching Fu Pang
I received a Bsc. And an MSc in Paper Technology at the University of Manchester Institute of Science & Technology. I then received a postgraduate certificate of Education specializing in English as a Foreign Language at London University. Later, I received an MA in Applied Linguistics at Birmingham University and also an MA in History of Science at the University of Pennsylvania in the USA.
I am British Chinese and I speak Chinese My first international school experience was at the United World College in Italy but I have many years of experience teaching English to foreigners of all nationalities at Further Education colleges in the UK. I joined SSIS in July 006.
At SSIS, I have taught English B to at Grade 12, Grade 11, Grade 10.
In addition to my main duties, I have taught IELTS preparation courses for students who need to take this exam in order to be admitted to universities in English speaking countries. I am a qualified IELTS Speaking examiner.

ESL Coordinator---------Jill Brough
I graduated as a teacher of English and French in my home country of Australia in 1975, and since then I have taught French, English, and a number of other subjects, in my home country of Australia, a local school in France and in international schools in Zambia and Turkey. I’ve taught 4 year olds to 65 year olds, but I’ve always been more than happy to return to teaching teenagers.
I came to SSIS in 2004 with my husband, Rick (Computer Technology), and our daughter, Nathalie, who graduated from here in 2006. I have taught English B at all secondary grade levels and I’ve been involved in coaching girls’ basketball, volleyball and soccer. Grade 9 and 10 Drama, Grade 9 English B-------Helen Adams
I studied English language and literature at Moscow State University. After that, I did my MA and PhD there. I received my advanced professional training at Thames Valley University in London, Edinburgh University and International House London. Before continuing my teaching career overseas, I worked as a professor of English at Moscow State University for twenty-four years.
I have been working at international schools around the world for over ten years now. I taught in Turkey, Bahrain, India, Azerbaijan, Myanmar and Bangladesh before coming to China this August.
