Steven Harvey - 3SH - Grade 3 Coordinator

I bring over 20 years of teaching experience to SSIS and am excited to be a part of the Elementary teaching team. I hold a Diploma of Teaching and a Graduate Diploma in Computer education, both completed in universities across Australia. My professional journey has taken me to various locations around my home state of Queensland, Australia and as far abroad as London, England. I have been a teaching principal in many rural small schools in Australia and have been a year level coordinator in large urban schools. As an Elementary Teacher, I have taught children across a range of ages and in a range of subjects. I have worked as a computer education consultant, working with teachers in the effective use of ICT's in the classroom, and have also provided inservice training for teachers at the University of the Sunshine Coast. My family and I are excited to be living in Suzhou and look forward to the new opportunities that it will bring.

Jose Chang Calle - 3JC

I studied Business and Economics in South America and the United States. I graduate with high distinctions both as a student and as an athlete. Later, I did graduate studies in Chinese Philosophy at Beijing University and a post-graduate diploma in education in Australia. I have been a teacher in South America, North America, China, Japan and Australia. I have a strong background working with languages and ESL. For quite a few years now, I have concentrated on working with children. I started working at SSIS in 2008. This is my first year working in grade three. For the past two years I have been working as a grade one teacher in the elementary school.

Siobhan Westbrook - 3SW

I am originally from New Orleans, Louisiana and hold a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Louisiana Tech University.  I consider myself a bit of a global nomad as I have lived and worked longer outside of the USA.  After college, I taught grade 2 for four years in Georgia before deciding to teach internationally. I have been fortunate to work in international schools in Africa, Asia, Europe and China. This will be my second time teaching in China. I have 20 years experience teaching grades 1-4.  I really enjoy the diversity and cultural mix of working in an international school setting.  Joining me are my husband, Mike, my daughter Hayley, (12) and my son, Matt (10).  We all look forward to being a part of the SSIS community and all the adventures that await us!

John Pryke - 3JP

After completing a Bachelor of Education degree at Southern Cross University, Lismore, Australia, I taught in Australia before moving to China in 2006. This is my fifth year teaching grade 3 here at SSIS. Before I became a teacher I had been a policeman, an irrigation designer, a water pump mechanic as well as a professional fisherman and golf coach.
