Nicole Brew - 1NB - Grade 1 Coordinator

I graduated from the University of North Dakota with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. Before coming to China, I worked in the USA with children who have special needs. I joined the SSIS team in 2008 and this is my third year teaching Grade One.

Amanda Hedley - 1AH

I studied for a Bachelor of Arts in Music at Victoria University in Wellington, New Zealand. After this I decided to train as a teacher and earned a Diploma of Teaching. I have taught in elementary schools in New Zealand before having my two children: Harry and Laura who are now 8 and 11 respectively. Before coming to SSIS I worked as a Literacy Teacher for six years working with 13-15 year olds. This is my forth year at SSIS. I have assisted with the choir and Elementary Production.

Carla Limmer - 1CL

I am a New Zealand trained primary school (five year olds to 13 year olds) teacher. I studied at the University of Auckland and the Auckland College of Education. I have a Bachelor of Education and a Diploma of Teaching. I taught in New Zealand for four years before I moved to China to join the SSIS team. I started at SSIS in August 2004, when the school was at the Xing Han Jie campus. I taught a Pre-K homeroom class and when the school moved out to the Zhong Nan Jie campus I moved to teach a KG homeroom class. In August 2006 I joined the Grade one team, where I taught a homeroom class for two years before joining the ESL Specialist team as the G1-5 ESL coordinator. August 2008-2009 I worked in Grade one as an ESL specialist. I have returned to the Grade 1 team this year.

Greg Stewart - 1GS

I am a Canadian American, with roots in both California and Ontario. I received my Bachelor of Education OISE University of Toronto after completing my Bachelor of Arts at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario. Prior to joining SSIS, I taught Grade One in an international schoolin Sweden.I have also worked in a variety of roles in schools in the UK, Canada and USA. Aside from teaching, I enjoy rock climbing, ultimate frisbee, and playing the cello. I am very much looking forward to joining the SSIS community.
