Carolin Hofmann - GD1-2 - German Coordinator
I received my Primary Teaching Diploma at "Pädagogische Hochschule Karlsruhe” in Germany. Five years ago I started working as a teacher. Since then I mainly taught students from 6 – 12 years of age.
Three years ago I gained further qualifications as a mentor of trainee teachers. Most recently I was a homeroom teacher for grade three in Germany. At school I was responsible for our theatre group, we performed 2-3 plays during the academic year. Moreover I cooperated closely with our Kindergarten. I visited once a week and worked with children during their last year of kindergarten.
Teaching at SSIS is my first international teaching position and I am really looking forward to broaden my professional and personal horizons.

Gabriele Kullas - GD3-5
I attended the University of Dresden in Germany where I completed the first stage of my teaching degree. I completed an additional two years of training in Erlangen in Bavaria which gave me a full degree in the teaching profession. I worked as a teacher in Germany for twenty -five years. For many of those years I was a “Form Teacher”, providing exemplary teaching strategies for new graduates in the profession. During my career as a teacher I studied several philosophies of education and acquired certification in each of these, Montessori and Klippert. Each of these alternative teaching strategies prepared me well to meet the ever changing needs of our students in our classroom and those in education. I came to SSIS in 2007 as a primary teacher in the German Department.

Otto Menge - German Teacher
I studied in McMaster University in Canada, where I graduated with a teaching degree and a split major in Psychology and History. I taught 30 years in the Canadian Educational System in Niagara. I was a classroom teacher in the elementary and middle school years for most of that time. Frequently we were required to update and improve our teaching strategies to meet the needs of the students and changing philosophies in education. For many years I was a specialist teacher in Mathematics, Science History and English. Following my career in Canada, I thought in the Middle East in an IB school in Dubai and two years in the British System in Al Khobar in Saudi Arabia.
I came to SSIS in 2008 as an English Teacher in the German School.
