Vocal

Tutor: Esther Rietberg-Munsterman

Music is a great passion of Esther's and it has always been a prominent part of her life. At the age of 16, she was trained by the well-known vocal pedagogue, Jo Bollekamp. Esther continued to study at the Conservatory of Rotterdam, the Netherlands, and at the Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber in Dresden, Germany. She often had the honor of performing in concerts throughout Europe and Southeast Asia. One of Esther’s personal highlights was performing Schumann's 'Frauen Lieben und Leben' at a charity concert for Siam Care in Bangkok, Thailand. Once she moved to Vietnam, she started to teach vocals at the British International School in Ho Chi Minh City. This brought her great joy as it was incredible to see how her students’ journeys into music developed and that their interests still continue to advance today.

Esther is very passionate about keeping her skills up to date and challenging herself as well as her students to be the best they can be. With this in mind, during the summer break, Esther attended, the Kurt Thomas course, at the University of Music in Utrecht, the Netherlands, where she was inspired with new music techniques regarding vocalization and choir directing. She is excited to see how she can incorporate these new skills in her vocal lessons and ensembles this year at SSIS.
